Explore the history and culture of the Sea Sami in Nord-Troms. Nordlige folk is a digital portal focusing on the cultural heritage of the Sea Sami. The portal also disseminates knowledge about Kven culture and stories. Through unique material in the form of text, audio and images, we make these stories accessible and alive for both current and future generations. The portal has been developed by the Centre for Northern Peoples to highlight the rich diversity of our shared northern cultural heritage.

Máhtut project - The road to guohpparmális

The MÁHTUT project is based on the idea that Sámi traditional knowledge holds important answers to the sustainability challenges of the future. For generations, Sámi communities have lived in balance with nature - with reuse, adaptation and respect for resources as fundamental values. The project emphasises this heritage as an inspiration in the green transition.
