The huldra is a beautiful supernatural female creature that you can meet in the mountains or in the forest. In the stories, the huldra appears to humans for better or worse

Huldra can bring misfortune, but she can also help and comfort. She is beautiful, can rock climb and has a cow's tail. According to folklore, the huldra lives in mountains and underground. Huldra is often described as having long golden hair and a cow's tail.

In the stories, the huldra appears to people for better or worse. She can get you into trouble or she can help and comfort you. Huldra can lure and rescue men, and in some legends she marries people.

Huldra also steals children or trades them for her own. These children are called changelings.
If children had contracted diseases that could not be cured or were born disabled, it was explained that they had been preyed upon by huldra or other subterraneans.
