For generations, S\u00e1mi communities have lived in balance with nature - with reuse, adaptation and respect for resources as fundamental values.<br>The project emphasises this heritage as an inspiration in the green transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Centre for northern peoples<\/strong>&nbsp;contributes expertise in Sea Sami culture and food traditions, and disseminates local knowledge from the coastal communities in North Troms.<br>We want to highlight how traditional Sami wisdom can provide new perspectives on sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>M\u00c1HTUT collector<\/strong>&nbsp;and strengthens knowledge of S\u00e1mi circular economy practices and traditional ways of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Through co-operation<\/strong>&nbsp;across borders and disciplines, we explore how climate and societal changes affect S\u00e1mi industries and livelihoods. Together, we highlight the value of S\u00e1mi knowledge - for a more sustainable and diverse future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Centre for Northern Peoples&nbsp;<\/strong>and the University of Troms\u00f8 have spent the autumn of 2024 and winter of 2025 working with the 8th grade at Manndalen School. They have been involved in a project on traditional food traditions and traditional knowledge here in Manndalen, with a focus on the Sea Sami dish&nbsp;<em>roe ball soup<\/em>. The 8th grade class has been involved in the entire process, from gathering ingredients to preparing the dish itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This has&nbsp;<\/strong>became a short film about knowledge sharing between those with traditional knowledge and the young people who will learn the traditional knowledge.
