{"id":1986,"date":"2016-08-26T00:08:00","date_gmt":"2016-08-26T00:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nordligefolk.no\/?p=1986"},"modified":"2026-02-09T00:29:28","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T00:29:28","slug":"politisk-mobilisering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nordligefolk.no\/en\/politisk-mobilisering\/","title":{"rendered":"Political mobilisation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>In the early 1900s, we saw the start of a mobilisation based on ethnicity, across political and religious affiliations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nordligefolk.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/anders-larsen-s-13-14.jpg\"><\/a>Anders Larsen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anders Larsen from Kv\u00e6nangen was one of the early contributors to this political mobilisation. In 1904, Anders Larsen founded the Sami newspaper&nbsp;<em>Sagai Muittal\u00e6gje,&nbsp;<\/em>and helped form Scandinavia's first Sami political organisation. He also wrote the first novel to be written and printed in Sami,&nbsp;<em>B\u00e6ivve - alggo<\/em>, 1912.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"407\" src=\"https:\/\/nordligefolk.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/AVISFORSIDE-s-13-14.jpg\" alt=\"AVISFORSIDE-s-13-14\" class=\"wp-image-1988\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nordligefolk.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/AVISFORSIDE-s-13-14.jpg 600w, https:\/\/nordligefolk.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/AVISFORSIDE-s-13-14-300x204.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nordligefolk.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/AVISFORSIDE-s-13-14-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">NOTICEFORSIDE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Larsen's work was an important contribution to the increased focus on the consequences of Norwegianisation, which, among other things, was reflected in the Sami people's experience of having a low status in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finnmark and North Troms, including K\u00e5fjord, were burned down during the war. This resulted in a setback for the Sami language and culture. The settlements had to be rebuilt and many people moved away from their homes. On the other hand, the post-war period was characterised by increased prosperity for the population in the region. S\u00e1mediggi \/ the Sami Parliament was established in 1989 as a consequence of this new Sami political offensive. Today, the debate revolves around the status and rights that the Sami people have enjoyed in the past and how this can be further shaped in the present and future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Riddu Ri\u0111\u0111u festival<\/em>, which had its humble beginnings in 1991, came as a rebellion against the effects of Norwegianisation in coastal Sami areas.
