Skárfvaggi / Skardalen is a small Sea Sami village in Kåfjord. In 2009, the village was selected as a national cultural landscape in agriculture.
Beautifully situated between steep mountains, the area contains a wealth of stories and cultural heritage from different eras, and has also preserved traditional settlement patterns and farming methods.

Evacuation gamma in Gárdegohppi
In 2014, 70 years after it was burnt down and evacuated, the hamlet that housed around 40 people and some animals was rebuilt in Gárdegohppi, Skardalen.

The Reindeer Grazing Commission of 1913
Prior to the 2019 Reindeer Grazing Convention, a commission was set up to investigate and regulate the boundaries for Sami reindeer husbandry between Norway and Sweden.
